JohnPaul Michael has arrived!
After 53 grueling hours of labor, we found ourselves holding our new little, er scratch that, big miracle. JohnPaul was born on Thursday, October 5th, 2006 at 1:12 p.m. and he’s huge. He weighed 10 lbs. and 9 oz., measured 23 ½ inches long, with a 15-inch crown. It was quite a day. We had him at an all-natural birthing home in Sarasota Florida. Yes, that’s right. No C-section, no epidural, just hard work, pain, perseverance, a great support team, and most importantly, God.
God really blessed us in several amazing ways. Bob’s schedule at work is Friday and Saturday off and he works the rest of the week. We have prayed that JohnPaul would be born on a Thursday so that Bob could have Friday and Saturday off. The Lord heard our prayers.
He also gave us faith to know that He wouldn’t give us anything that we couldn’t handle. The day was truly greased by the grace of God. Of course, it was comforting to know that He created women perfectly to give birth. God has taught us so much in the last few days since JohnPaul’s birth. He has given us a glimpse of His love for us. Also, after such a long labor of love, where the Lord was so present for us, we know that any difficulties we will encounter as parents, The Lord already has worked out for us ahead of time and we just need to lean on Him and press into Jesus Christ.
